Galeria Victoria

Galeria Victoria is the first modern shopping, service and entertainment complex in Wałbrzych and the entire region. It is also the first shopping mall in the city which has a multiplex cinema (Cinema City), numerous restaurants and cafés, and which gives its customers access to well-known Polish and international brands. The total surface area of the shopping mall is around 80,000 sq m, and total lettable area is 43,000 sq m. Customers with cars may use 1,390 onground and underground parking places.

„Mine, Yours, Ours”
Galeria Victoria was designed to provide the local community with A new public space and at the same time, is a crucial part of the revitalisation of this part of the city centre of Wałbrzych, which has remained undeveloped thus far.
As the advertising slogan of Galeria Victoria - "Mine, Yours, Ours" - suggests, the shopping and entertainment center was prepared specially for the inhabitants of Wałbrzych and of the region and offers the following attractions:
- a public amphitheatre where outdoor concerts will be organised in summer and an ice rink in the winter,
- the first food court in Wałbrzych with numerous restaurants and cafés,
- Kinderplaneta, a playground and entertainment zone for children,
- A modern seven-screen Cinema City multiplex

Other interesting facts about Galeria Victoria:
- There are 250 km of electricity cables installed in Galeria Victoria. They could connect Wałbrzych with Poznań or Brno in the Czech Republic.
- The building façade has the surface area of 13,815 sq m, and the atrium of around 2,500 sq m, which may be compared to almost 33 and 6 basketball courts respectively.
- 87,000 cu m of earth were removed from the construction site of Galeria Victoria. This amount reflects the capacity of around 35 Olympic swimming pools which are 50 metres long, 25 metres wide and 2 metres deep.
- The surface area of the floors in Galeria Victoria is 52,000 sq m, which equals that of 7 football pitches.
- If all 17,600 fire sprinklers in Galeria Victoria were activated at the same time, the effect would be similar to that of 23,000 showers opened simultaneously.
- In order to build Galeria Victoria, 60,000 cu m of concrete was used. If such an amount of concrete was shaped into a beam with the base of 1 sq m, it would reach from Wałbrzych almost to Jelenia Góra.
- In the construction of Galeria Victoria, 9,000 t of reinforced steel was used. This is more than 375 lorries could hold. If placed one after another, such a line of vehicles would be around 7 km long.
- The power of cooling used in Galeria Victoria equals 7 MW, which is the power of 70,000 100-watt light bulbs.

Location
Galeria Victoria is located on a 10-ha plot at ul. 1 Maja 64 in the centre of Wałbrzych, at local road no 367 to Jelenia Góra and in the neighbourhood of national road no 35, which leads to the border crossing with the Czech Republic in Golińsk. The shopping mall is located near the city centre, hence it is well-connected with other districts of Wałbrzych. Its location makes the mall an ideal and convenient shopping place for inhabitants of Wałbrzych, Świebodzice, Świdnica, Strzegom, Legnica, Jelenia Góra, Kłodzko and Kamienna Góra. Located only 17 km away from the Polish-Czech border, Galeria Victoria is also the nearest shopping place for those who come to Poland from the Czech Republic.
